Awards
Given
The
2003 Massachusetts Drinking Water Awards
will be given by
DEP, MWWA, NeRWA, and RCAP Solutions to the public water
suppliers who scored in the top 10% in calendar year 2002. Awards
will be given in four categories: Small Community Systems (serving
3300 people or less), Medium-to-Large Community Systems, Consecutive
Systems (community systems supplying purchased water), and NTNCs
(serving nonresidential schools and businesses).
Scoring
this year was based entirely on compliance with state and federal
drinking water standards, regulations, and guidelines in
2002. A large number of water suppliers were under
consideration for these awards, so ties were broken by reviewing
compliance records for up to five previous
years.
The
2003 EPA Environmental Educator Awards
also will be presented at the ceremony to recognize individuals in
each state who have demonstrated exceptional work in drinking
water education.
For

about the awards and the ceremony, contact Marie Tennant at (617)

Congratulations
to all the winners!
